Using Grids effectively

On many of its screens, the BiblioTECH client modules display information in a grid.
(Grids are sometimes referred to as 'spreadsheet view')

These grids can be adjusted so that the data is arranged in a manner which suits the user.

You can save a particular grid layout as the default layout for that grid. This allows the user to customise their view of the data in a layout that suits their work practices.

Further, the grids incorporate the ability to select a range of cells which can then be 'actioned'. The available actions will vary dependent on the screen being viewed.

Column Visibility
In the top left corner of the grid, there is a small cell with short lines on it. If you click on this cell, you will be shwon a list of the available columns.
If a column is ticked, it will be displayed, otherwise it will be hidden

Patron Manager and in Resource Manager, the main grids can be adjusted so the data records are displayed in a selectable order.
You can adjust the sort order using two separate methods
Select a "View By" drop-down list entry.

  • The selected column will be repositioned as the first column
  • The data will be sorted based on that column

Click on the column heading cell

  • The data records will be sorted by this column
  • Only applicable to columns that are also

    The selected column will be repositioned as the first column

  • Click on the column heading cell
    Only applicable to columns that are listed in the "View By" drop down list
